Version 3.2.1 Is Here
Volume Graphics introduces version 3.2.1 of its product family for the analysis and visualization of industrial computed tomography (CT) data – consisting of VGSTUDIO MAX, VGSTUDIO, VGMETROLOGY, VGinLINE, and myVGL. With this release, Volume Graphics continues its commitment to enhance existing capabilities and add new ones to simplify visualization, analysis, and simulation on industrial CT data. Among other practical new features, version 3.2.1 introduces the ability to update all analyses of a selected object with just one click.
In version 3.2.1, users benefit from:
- the Volume Graphics Metrology Kernel VGMK 3.2.0 140356 (Windows 64 bit), which is now tested by the NIST’s "Algorithm Testing and Evaluation Program for Coordinate Measuring Systems";
- time savings thanks to the new ability to update all analyses of a selected object with just one click;
- increased compatibility due to updated formats for the import of native CAD files;
- a handy new option for including or excluding holes when creating an ROI from certain geometry elements, e.g., for creating a cylindrical ROI with "lids" on the top and bottom; and
- extended PDF reports created by VGinLINE APPROVER which now contain approval information.
Visualization and Navigation
- Improved the performance of switching the workspace views
- Improved performance of spherical navigation mode
- "Save movie/image stack" supports the rotation view again
Coordinate Measurement/Metrology
- The Volume Graphics Metrology Kernel VGMK 3.2.0 140356 was verified by the "NIST Algorithm Testing and Evaluation Program for Coordinate Measuring Systems". The test results were obtained under Windows (64 bit)
- Added an option to include or exclude holes when creating an ROI from certain geometry element types
- Added an option to include or exclude holes when creating a mesh from certain geometry element types
- Create mesh from geometry elements can now be recorded in a macro
- Analysis annotations can now be created by pasting previously copied coordinates from the clipboard
- Added a preferences option to hide the CM group name for datum elements in GD&T annotations
- Improved freeform surface fitting logic to achieve better results with fewer clicks
CAD Import/CAD Import with PMI
- Updated the advanced CAD import to support the following formats and versions: CATIA V5 up to V5-6 R2018 (R28), Creo up to 5.0 Beta, Solid Edge V19 - 20, ST - ST10, SolidWorks up to 2018 and Unigraphics-NX V11.0 to NX 12.0
Manufacturing Geometry Correction
- Improved the usage of nominal/actual comparison for the Manufacturing Geometry Correction Module
- Improved the 3D navigation for CAD geometry correction objects that do not yet have any components
Wall Thickness Analysis
- Improved accuracy of component surface area calculation for wall thickness analysis (Sphere method)
- Wall thickness analysis (Sphere method) now uses the same default color coding (Reverse rainbow) as wall thickness analysis (Ray method)
- Min. and max. wall thickness tolerances of wall thickness analysis (Ray method) are now included in the top-level report (VGRF)
- Annotation min. and max. thickness tolerances can now be deleted
All Analyses
- All analyses of a selected object can now be updated by one click
- Increased performance of evaluation import
- Evaluation import now preserves the color bar settings of the evaluation template
Automation
- Multi-applying a single macro can now be aborted
Reporting
- PDF reports exported from VGinLINE APPROVER now contain approval information
