Hexagon AB, a global leader in sensor, software and autonomous solutions, today announced the completion of the previously announced acquisition of the German industrial computed tomography (CT) software specialist Volume Graphics. Completion of the transaction was subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions, which have now been finalized.
The acquisition of Volume Graphics reinforces Hexagon’s industrial measurement portfolio with high-end CT data analysis and visualization software, which is used for applications including non-destructive testing, defect detection and failure analysis. CT scanning is also a complimentary technology to Hexagon’s growing offering for additive manufacturing.
Heidelberg-based Volume Graphics has around 160 employees globally and operates subsidiaries in Japan, Singapore, China and the USA. The company will operate within Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division.
