Research

Unique and precious artefacts have to be treated with the utmost care. To find out more about the inside of such objects, which may disintegrate upon examination, without having to cut them open, computed tomography is today used in many fields of research.

Volume Graphics Software allows volume data of such fragile objects to be analyzed without having to touch or transport the objects. The CT images may be sliced at any point without having to cut into the real object at all. With a virtual camera flight, the research object can be documented and conserved, and further research such as dissections can then be conducted within the CT data set without having to physically disassemble the object. The analysis results can be archived for posterity and provided in digital form for the world-wide exchange of knowledge.
